I'm Ellie, the dyer behind Dyed In The Wool Yarns. I started dyeing in 2021 during the lockdown, just to try it, and I fell in love! I pair bright, neon colours and speckles with soft, beautiful wool so that you can create fabulous knitted, crocheted or woven projects.

My Story

Dyed In The Wool was founded in 2020,in the midst of global lockdown. I started experimenting with yarn dyeing in my little kitchen and fell in love with it.

Inspired by punk and metal music, as well as my love for Sci-Fi and Fantasy, Dyed In The Wool yarns are bright and exciting. Specialising in neon colours and speckles, you can expect something original for your next knitting or crochet project.

Being autistic with ADHD has prevented me from succeeding in a conventional work place. Working for myself is like a dream come true. I'm able to work to my own schedule and be as creative as I want. No need for professionalism and snotty office emails here! Its a real privilege and I feel profoundly grateful to be able to do what I love.

The yarn community is a beautiful thing and I've made some fantastic friends in fellow dyers and knitters. Its such a joy to see the things you make with the yarn I've dyed. If you do use my yarn in your projects, please do share pics over on Instagram.
